State of Ohio vs. Ruben Rhodes

This comprehensive virtual case study begins with policy and ends with sentencing. Within are educational and authentic videos of the criminal justice system from beginning to end and back around to reoffending and recidivism. It is meant to provide the criminal justice student with a holistic and experiential learning tool. While immersed inside of the case, students will apply, analyze and evaluate current systemic approaches to crime. This innovative opportunity encourages systemic thinking toward effective criminal justice policies and practices.


Closing Statements

These arguments provide the jury with a summative review of the case from both sides. Remember, that our system is adversarial, zero sum. The jury will decide the facts from the two scenarios presented by the prosecution and defense. If the prosecution has not proved every element of the crime(s) beyond a reasonable doubt, they must acquit.
